Enthusiastic, diligent, and determined, I am always open to new opportunities. Being a transplanted New Orleans native, I believe that an eclectic approach to work and life alike an advantage — from sports, books, and music to film, TV, and cuisine. I’m a creative, ambitious, detail-oriented self-starter, with a knack for organization, a penchant for writing, and an eye for aesthetics. I'm very comfortable managing multiple jobs, projects, responsibilities, and obligations simultaneously, and relish the diversity and excitement that such roles entail. I take distinct pride in my understanding of people, and the ease and candor I establish with clients and coworkers alike, and I enjoy translating those interactions into strong relationships.

Over the course of my career, I've had the chance to work on a variety of projects, including:

I've had the opportunity to manage, build, and shape teams, having overseen social media and creative departments, establishing clear goals and objectives, focusing heavily on team growth and development, building out hierarchy and structure, and defining and implementing processes and practices. I especially enjoy building relationships and mentoring junior team members.

Though “editor” hasn’t always been in my job title, weaving and telling stories — be it for social media, video projects, published articles, website copy, new business pitches, or promotional materials — has always been a pillar and mainstay of my work. Maintaining editorial calendars, monitoring project workflows, and tracking deadlines and deliverables are in my DNA. I make sure tasks don’t fall through the cracks, and value the importance that efficient processes and strong foundations play in setting my team up for success.

I’m not content simply being "just a member of the team" — I am determined to always be an integral component of my team’s success. I do my best work in an open and collaborative atmosphere, where all ideas are welcome, regardless of title or seniority. As my mentor instilled in me, “The only bad idea is a good idea you kept to yourself.”

I’d like to share the best piece of career advice I ever received. It was from my mother, and her words have guided me well thus far. Quite simply, she said, "Make yourself indispensable." This is the mindset I strive to bring to my work each day.

Let's collaborate on something awesome.
Cheers,
James.

He is a former band nerd who obsesses over LSU sports, mozzarella sticks, Formula 1, and can’t live without his AMC A-List membership. James loves a good beach read but doesn’t love the beach, and enjoys playing tennis, cooking for friends and family, attending NYCFC matches, being a member of the Gotham Volleyball League, and singing with the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus. He also doesn't understand how anyone conceivably prefers In-N-Out Burger to Shake Shack.
